Custom 3D Backlit Letters in Production

Buoyant Sign recently completed the production and lighting test of a custom set of 3D backlit letters featuring 

individually fabricated dimensional characters in different colors.

The letters are designed with rear LED illumination, allowing light to project from behind each character 

and create a clean halo effect around the letter edges. During factory testing, each letter is powered 

and inspected to verify the lighting performance before shipment.

This backlit configuration combines the visual depth of dimensional lettering with soft indirect illumination, 

creating a distinctive illuminated effect for commercial and architectural signage.

Individual Letter Fabrication with Custom Colors

Each character is fabricated as an independent 3D letter according to the approved artwork, dimensions and layout.

The green and yellow finishes shown in this production batch provide strong daytime visibility while 

creating contrasting illuminated effects when the LED system is switched on. Letter colors, dimensions, fonts, depths 

and logo shapes can all be customized to meet different branding requirements.

Individual fabrication also allows each letter to be positioned independently during installation, providing flexibility 

for different wall layouts and brand displays.

Rear LED Layout for an Even Halo Effect

LED modules are arranged behind the dimensional letters to direct light toward the mounting surface.

The rear illumination creates a soft white glow around each character rather than illuminating the front face directly. 

This is commonly known as backlit, reverse-lit or halo-lit lettering in the signage industry.

During factory testing, the letters are connected to the LED modules and powered on to check illumination consistency, 

wiring connections and overall light distribution.

This process helps identify lighting or assembly issues before the finished letters leave the factory.

Factory Quality Checks Before Shipment

Before packing, our production team checks the dimensional letters for appearance, finish quality, letter shape, 

LED connections and lighting performance.

Testing the complete set in the factory also allows the team to verify that the individual characters maintain a consistent 

illuminated appearance across different colors and sizes.

For project-based signage orders, this production and testing process provides an additional quality-control step 

before the letters are prepared for delivery.
