Designing signage for a cruise ship is fundamentally different from standard land-based projects. Constant exposure to salt air, 

humidity, vibration, and strict safety regulations requires both creative design and advanced engineering.

In this project, Buoyant Sign delivered two custom illuminated signage solutions for the All-Stars Sports Bar aboard a cruise liner. 

By combining retro Americana aesthetics with marine-grade construction, we created a cohesive brand experience across both exterior and interior spaces.

Sign 1: Vertical Blade Sign for Exterior Deck
The first installation is a vertical projecting blade sign, specifically engineered for outdoor deck use.

Inspired by classic mid-century bar signage, the design features a rich maroon background framed by bright white LED edge lighting. 

The stacked “ALL STARS” lettering, finished in matte silver, ensures strong visibility from a distance, while the signature star emblem 

reinforces the venue’s sporty identity.

More importantly, this sign is built to perform in demanding marine conditions. Unlike standard outdoor signage, 

cruise ship installations must withstand continuous exposure to salt air, UV radiation, wind, and structural vibration.

To meet these challenges, the sign is constructed with corrosion-resistant materials, IP65-rated waterproofing, 

and UV-stabilized coatings to prevent fading and aging. The dual-arm mounting structure ensures long-term stability, 

while energy-efficient LED lighting guarantees clear visibility both day and night.

Sign 2: Decorative Illuminated Sign for Interior Space
The second sign is a custom decorative illuminated feature designed for the bar’s interior environment.

With flowing cursive “All-Stars” lettering, a bold maroon fill, and a dynamic navy-red swoosh element, 

the design captures the spirit of vintage sports branding and retro bar culture. The addition of “SPORTS BAR” typography 

and a starburst detail creates a vibrant focal point that enhances the atmosphere of the space.

Built using premium, scratch-resistant materials and a refined matte finish, the sign maintains its visual quality 

under controlled interior lighting conditions. Integrated LED illumination provides a soft, ambient glow that contributes to a warm 

and inviting customer experience.

Cohesive Branding Across Exterior and Interior

Both signage pieces share a unified color palette of maroon, white, and navy, along with consistent retro-inspired design elements. 

This ensures a seamless visual identity throughout the venue, strengthening brand recognition and enhancing the overall customer experience.
